The Frankfurt auto show was very important for Volkswagen. The German manufacturer took the opportunity to unveil its new design philosophy and even announce a brand-new logo.
The new VW logo is two-dimensional instead of three, has no shading and is found on a dark blue background as opposed to pale blue.
Other changes to the logo include the separation of the letters "V" and "W" and the "W" does not touch the circle that surrounds the letters.
"The new brand design marks the start of the new era for Volkswagen," Jürgen Stackmann, Member of the Brand Board of Management says. "By formulating new content and with new products, the brand is undergoing a fundamental transformation towards a future with a neutral emission balance for everyone. Now is the right time to make the new attitude of our brand visible to the outside world."
