The new 2022 Volkswagen Taos is going on sale today priced at $26,695. It comes with a range of standard features as well as an impressive lineup of models. 4Motion all-wheel drive is available in the base model and standard in Comfortline and Highline trims.
Buyers get a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine out of the gate with 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, and 790 litres of total cargo space. Here’s an overview of the trims offered and the features they include.
Trendline
The Taos starts at an MSRP of $26,695 with front-wheel drive ($29,195 with
4MOTION® AWD). It features standard 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels; LED
headlights, taillights and Daytime Running Lights (DRLs); push-button start; 6.5-
inch touchscreen and four-speaker sound system; Bluetooth® connectivity for
compatible devices and a USB-C port; App-Connect smartphone integration
(Android AutoTM, Apple CarPlay®, MirrorLink®); automatic headlights; two-tone
cloth seating with heated front seats; heated washer nozzles and side mirrors;
Volkswagen Digital Cockpit; a multi-function steering wheel; hill hold assist;
engine start/stop system; black roof rails; 60/40 split-folding rear seats with
centre armrest and pass-through; and a rearview camera.
Comfortline
Building from the Trendline trim, the Taos Comfortline starts at $32,395 with
4MOTION® AWD. Standard features include: Front Assist with Autonomous
Emergency Braking; Blind Spot Monitor with rear traffic alert; 8-inch MIB3
infotainment with voice control and six-speaker sound system; wireless phone
charging; wireless App-Connect; three USB-C ports; SiriusXM® satellite radio
(three-month trial); two-tone leatherette seating surfaces; 8-way driver power
seat with adjustable lumbar support; dual-zone Climatronic® climate control;
multifunction steering wheel wrapped in leatherette; KESSY keyless access;
privacy glass; silver roof rails; and body-coloured side mirrors.
The Comfortline can be optioned with a single package, which includes 18-inch
alloy wheels and a panoramic power sunroof for $1,500.
Highline
The top-of-the-line Highline models are priced at $36,695 with 4MOTION® AWD.
Building from the Comfortline trim, standard features include: 18-inch alloy
wheels; Dynamic Signature LED headlights with cornering lights and the
Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS); Light Assist high beam control; an
illuminated grille; MIB3 infotainment with navigation; leather seating surfaces;
heated and ventilated front sports seats; a panoramic power sunroof;
BeatsAudio® 8-speaker premium sound system; 10-colour ambient lighting;
auto-dimming rear view mirror; park distance control (rear); rain-sensing
wipers; and a heated leatherette steering wheel. The optional Advanced Driver
Assistance Systems package is available on Highline models and includes:
Dynamic Road Sign Display; Lane Assist (Lane keeping system) with Traffic Jam
and Emergency Assist; Remote start and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and
Go. The package is priced at $1,000. 19-inch alloy wheels are available for $500.
