Three Ways the new Volkswagen Atlas Cross Gets Through Winter

Winters aren't predictable in Canada, and it's important for your vehicle to adapt to extreme cold and snow and ice. The Atlas Cross Sport includes 4MOTION All-Wheel Drive, advanced safety systems, and comfort inside that makes winter a more confident adventure. Here are three facets that help the Atlas Cross Sport get through winter.

How 4MOTION All-Wheel Drive cuts through snowy roads

Volkswagen's 4MOTION technology keeps traction in play in all seasons. It uses a large amount of sensor information to monitor not only road conditions, but speed, fuel, and more to ensure the system responds properly when better control is needed.

4MOTION continually monitors all wheels for spin and traction and sends torque to the wheels that need grip. There are many roads throughout Canada that create a challenging, winding experience even in dry conditions. If any of your wheels lose traction, 4MOTION brakes the slipping wheel(s) and reinforces the wheels with traction.

The system receives input from key points and decides where power should be distributed. The Atlas Cross Sport communicates with a Torsen differential to turn wheel power on and off. As a matter of fact, the entire system doesn't react, it predicts where more traction will be needed.

The new Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport adds safety in winter

It's ideal when you have more "eyes" around the vehicle to help you detect and react to objects and other obstacles, especially in the winter. Precipitation and fog can obstruct key views around the vehicle, including your ability to see vehicles around the rear of your vehicle. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert senses oncoming blind spot and other traffic and warns you of impending danger.

The Atlas Cross Sport features other useful proactive safety technology such as Front Assist- Autonomous Emergency Braking; Lane, Light, and Side Assist; Area View 360; and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

Get comfortable inside the Atlas Cross Sport

Once inside the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, you will be comforted by several features that will take the chill out of your environment. Remote Start ensures the engine is warm and heater ready, and heated front seats get you to room temperature quickly.

Other winter-ready features include the heated washer nozzles, dynamic headlights and optional block heater.
