2021 Volkswagen Tiguan vs. 2021 Honda CR-V: Stylish and Responsive

The Tiguan is the most stylish member of its segment, delivering maximum performance, responsiveness and technologies in a practical and modern SUV. The 2021 edition of the Tiguan is offered in Trendline, Comfortline, UNITED, and Highline trims. These models are fitted with everything you need to conquer Canadian winters and to enjoy our province’s beautiful summers as well.

Here, we compare the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan to the 2021 Honda CR-V.

The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is more responsive and adaptable to road conditions

Under the hood, the Tiguan delivers great power and torque thanks to a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that produces 184 horsepower and a surprising 221 lb-ft of torque that starts at just 1,600 rpm.

The CR-V includes a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder that generates a few more horses than the Tiguan, but downgrades to 179 lb-ft of torque, which is over 40 lb-ft less than the Tiguan. This difference makes the CR-V much less nimble and impacts overall driving dynamics.

Also, the Tiguan is fitted with a quick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic, a much more interactive and dynamic gearbox than the CR-V’s continuously variable transmission.

The Volkswagen Tiguan also helps drivers modulate their driving experience much better than CR-V drivers. For example, it offers many selectable drive modes, with a snow mode that controls rpms so power transfer is less aggressive to reduce or avoid slippage in snowy conditions. Eco mode offers best efficiency, and Comfort delivers a smooth ride and Off-Road mode automatically configures the transmission to help the vehicle attack climbs and descents.

The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan has more space for passengers and a better warranty

The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan includes a very useful piece of equipment that the CR-V doesn’t have. When you need to accommodate more passengers, the Tiguan opens up an optionally available third row. This way you can welcome more people on your adventures without having to purchase a larger SUV.

Volkswagen also backs up the Tiguan with a great warranty. Each 2021 Tiguan features a New Vehicle Warranty that covers four years or 80,000 km (whichever comes first). That’s one year and 20,000 km more than what Honda gives the CR-V.

The Tiguan is also much more stylish than the CR-V. Choose the optional R-Line package to get the R-Line exterior design and plenty of great unique interior features. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
