2020 Volkswagen Jetta: For the drive, the styling and the value

Did you know that more than 17.5 million Jetta have been sold since the car was first introduced 40 year ago? In fact, this number makes the Volkswagen Jetta one of the most popular cars ever produced. Why do you think this is? We’ll give you a hint, actually, a tip: Go and drive the all-new 2020 Volkswagen Jetta.

Volkswagen has arguably built some of the best driving cars in their respective categories, and this continues to this day. The new Golf, the Passat, even the large 3-row Atlas SUV, all provide the best driving experiences of their segments. Among compact sedans, the Jetta stands head and shoulders above the others.

The 7th generation of the Volkswagen Jetta, introduced last year, is built on the company’s highly-praised and awarded MQB platform. This incredibly versatile architecture has allowed VW engineers to design and a tune the suspension to provide an unmatched level of compliance and handling. Typically, these elements are in opposition of one another but not so in the Jetta.

The brilliance with the Volkswagen Jetta is that it can be driven in a relaxed fashion, where the extremely frugal turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine will cruise along and consume as little as 5.9L/100km with the available 8-speed automatic transmission. Alternatively, the provided 147-horsepower and surprising 184 lb.-ft. of torque, along with the standard 6-speed manual transmission, can deliver some heart-pounding fun on your favorite country roads.

No matter the circumstances however, the Jetta’s level of refinement shines through – the car feels far more premium than the price tag suggests.

For a retail price set under $22,000, the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta Comfortline is loaded with a standard 6.5-inch screen with App-Connect including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink, and more. For under $29,000, features like navigation, Beats Premium audio, leather seats, wireless charging, and the customizable 12.3-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit are all included.

Entertaining all five occupants, as you can see, is something the new 2020- Volkswagen Jetta was born to do. Said passengers will also be treated to plenty of room and comfort features. One of the Jetta’s assets is its trunk. No matter what that favored activity is, with 399 litres of volume at your disposal, golf bags, sleeping bags and shopping bags will all fit with ease.

Another of the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta’s highlight is its styling. Its uniquely elegant German styling adds to the car’s premium effect, as do its standard 16-inch alloy wheels and LED daytime running lights.

To drive and consider the all-new 2020 Volkswagen Jetta is to understand that it is the compact sedan for you.
